Our Process
Instructions are coordinated through Ellie Brand, our Senior Clerk. She is supported by a team of clerks responsible for case allocation, documentation management, appointment coordination, and liaison with instructing parties.
Upon enquiry, Chambers will discuss the nature and scope of the case, identify an appropriately experienced independent expert within the relevant specialism, and confirm availability and fees. Once instructed, the clerking team coordinates secure upload of records and imaging, ensures pagination and chronology, arranges appointments where required, and maintains clear communication throughout the life of the instruction.
The structure is deliberately transparent: experts remain independent; Chambers provides administration, infrastructure and quality oversight. The result is a complete, efficient and conflict-controlled service for solicitors and insurers seeking reliable expert evidence.
Serious injury and clinical negligence litigation requires expert evidence that is independent, defensible and capable of withstanding scrutiny in conference, joint statement and court. Pathway Expert Chambers provides access to carefully selected, independent medical experts operating within a structured chambers model designed to support consistent professional standards.
Pathway is not an agency. Each expert is self-employed and personally responsible for their opinion. Their overriding duty is to the court. Pathway does not influence substantive conclusions. What it provides is governance, oversight across specialisms, bespoke legal training in CPR Part 35 compliance, and the administrative infrastructure necessary to reduce delay and friction in complex cases.
The Problems We Address
Solicitors and insurers face recurring challenges:
- Limited availability of trusted experts in key specialisms
- Excessive waiting times that prejudice case progression
- Increasing scrutiny of agency fees and administrative uplift
- Polarisation of experts toward one side of litigation
- Inconsistent report structure and court readiness
- Consistent administrative work when instructing experts
Pathway addresses these structural issues by combining senior expert oversight within each specialism with robust clerking support, secure document systems and defined professional standards.
Experts within Pathway may undertake claimant and defendant work. Information barriers are implemented where required to manage conflicts of interest. The objective is balanced, credible and court-focused expert evidence.
